Synopsis

Described as science fiction in its lightest form, The AL-EX Project (Alternative Existence) Testing the limits of dream control supports the premise that the interpretation of dreams has been an enigma since time began. So what if there was a means to fully understand your dreams? And what if you could re-enter your dreams at will? How about if you could manipulate them?

Alex, the main character in this story, has suffered nightmares all his life, ever since he lost his parents at the tender age of 11. Now an adult, and married to Kayj, his university sweetheart, still puzzled by his dreams and night-terror experiences, along with his mentor, (George, affectionately dubbed The Scientist) they have discovered a way to travel through dreams, believing that answers can be found in the dream state. Not only that but with advanced technology they are able to record and playback the dreams, enabling more accurate interpretation.

Exploration into Alex's dreams and repeated encounters with unusual characters spur this team to push the boundaries, trespass in an unknown realm and meddle with things they know nothing about indulging in unethical practices - all in the name of science

Desperate to explore this other realm, is Alex exposing himself to something deep, dark and dangerous?

About the Author

C.M. Donaldson is a London-based independent author, and an avid reader who loves science fiction, detective stories, murder mysteries and courtroom dramas.

The AL-EX Project (Alternative Existence) Testing the limits of dream control came about through having an interest in dreams, dream interpretation and the mysteries surrounding what is described in the tale as the dream state.

Often, most people feel frustrated that the tail-ends of vivid dreams are all that are left on waking, and it was the author's curiosity and fascination into the dream phenomena that led to the writing of an amusing, imaginative, tale of adventure, testing age-old theories, pushing the boundaries with unethical practices and meddling in the unknown heading in a spiral towards a probable mishap.

It must be noted that the dreams written in detail in The AL-EX Project are dreams the author has actually had, some of which had been written down and saved some years ago, but became relevant to include as the story took shape.
