Notes On The West Indies : Including Observations Relative To The Creoles And Slaves Of The Western Colonies And The Indian Of South America : Interspersed With Remarks Upon The Seasoning Or Yellow Fever Of Hot Climates by George Pinckard. Notes On The West Indies is a two-volume epistolary travelogue and medical-social study written during the late 18th century West Indian and Guiana service. It blends voyage narration, ethnographic observation, medical discourse, and political economy as Pinckard records encounters with enslaved Africans, Creoles, Indians of the Guiana hinterland, and colonial planters across Barbados, Demarara, Berbice, Martinique, Jamaica, and St. Domingo.
