From School Library Journal:
Gr 3–6—Kelley presents brief biographies on several major league baseball players who had outstanding years in 2015. Baseball card statistics are featured, including batting averages, throwing height, weight, and runs batted in. There is one page of information about each player's career along with a bit of trivia at the bottom and a full-color photograph on the opposite page. Among the players profiled are Mike Trout, Jake Arrieta, Félix Hernández, and Eric Hosmer. A spread at the end names several outstanding rookies. While the biographies are upbeat and well presented, readers will want to know more about the athletes; for instance, their birthdates are not stated. The title is somewhat misleading, as the focus is on the 2015 season. VERDICT Though attractively illustrated with bright photos, this book will appeal only to the most ardent baseball enthusiasts, as most of the data here is easily obtainable online and individual biographies are more edifying.—Margaret Nunes, Gwinnett County Public Library, GA
