Identifying economic integration as one of the main features of modern international economics, the authors examine its many aspects and consequences which remain as yet obscure and unexplored. After addressing general issues regarding economic integration, the authors include empirical theoretical analyses of the monetary union, social policy reform, social union, public finance and technological policies.

About the Author
DR GEORGE C. BITROS is Professor of Economics in the Economics Department of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He obtained his B.A. from the same university and his M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University.
DR GEORGE M. KORRES is Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography of the University of Aegean. He was educated at the University of Piraeus, University of Essex, and London University.
