Sir David is the true story of a giant Welsh warrior knight torn between his devotion to Wales and the English House of York during the Wars of the Roses in the 15th century. Love, honor and friendship issues plus the conflicts of David and wife Wellian who have twelve children plus an illegitimate child are sensitive and real. Sir David provides, in researched detail, a clear view of old England, its politics, man-to-man battles and manor life. This compelling novel depicts themes of home, family life, war, friendship, loneliness and love that span the centuries.

Garner Scott Odell, retired after forty years as a clergyman, therapist and professor, now turns his interest to historical novels after writing numerous articles and short stories. Sir David, his first novel, is a labor of love based on a genealogical character found while climbing around in the Odell family tree during his fifteen years of research. He resides in California with his wife, also a writer. Garner currently divides his time between writing a second historical novel and enjoying his children and grandchildren in addition to serving as Chaplain aboard a major cruise ship line that travels around the world.
