Award-winning writer Brian K. Vaughan (PRIDE OF BAGHDAD, Y-THE LAST MAN) deftly combines big city politics and superheroes in this much lauded series.
Now, the entire critically acclaimed series written by Brian K. Vaughan, one of the writers of LOST, is collected into a series of oversized, hardcover editions. In this second volume, Mayor Mitchell Hundred must make a difficult decision about his own future, becomes part of a shocking trial complicated by the unexpected arrival of an all-new superhero, and leaves New York City for the first time since his election to embark on a strange adventure. Plus, shocking tragedy strikes an Iraq War protest in downtown Manhattan.

Brian K. Vaughan is the Eisner Award-winning co-creator of the critically acclaimed comics series Y: THE LAST MAN and EX MACHINA. He also co-created the Vertigo graphic novel PRIDE OF BAGHDAD and served as a writer and producer for the hit television series Lost. Currently, Vaughan is writing the series Saga for Image Comics. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son.
"The series, written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Tony Harris, follows Mayor Hundred as he retires from crime-fighting to pursue public office. While Ex Machina retains some superhero elements, the stories draw heavily on politics. Unlike Green Lantern, this hero has to worry about budgets, controversial art in public museums and debates over school vouchers."—The New York Times
"Compelling entertainment with fiery thoughtfulness."—Entertainment Weekly
"Fresh. . . poignant."—Playboy
"Vaughn intertwines superpowers with nasty backroom dealings and quirky N.Y. political history."—Washington Post
