From the Author
I loved working on this book - real life mazes. The concept came when I was asked, along with other children's book illustrators, to create an alphabet letter for the CBC-ALA Auction for Literacy. I immediately got an idea - a maze based upon a twin-peaked mountain - a Mountain Maze (I had done three maze books prior to this). As soon as I executed the maze, I wanted to do a book of real life mazes based upon the letters of the alphabet. I was completing another project at the time, but every night, on the #6 subway on the way home from my studio, I'd work on drawings for a letter (I carried a little clipboard with paper) - maybe the H for Highway or the J for Jungle or the P for Parking lot. Real life is full of mazes, if you think about it.....
