Sid is tired of being a slow snail. He wants to be faster than a flash of lightning. So, after consulting a trio of guru snails, Sid sets off to find the legendary Ralph the Magic Rabbit, who has powers to grant wishes. On his journey he meets a crow (called Joe) and a neurotic mouse (Martin), both looking for life-changing experiences too. As the three friends help each other through the various challenges of the forest, including carnivorous slugs and a poisonous swamp, they discover that as long as they’ve got each other they’re happy just as they are. That is, until they see a sign advertising Al the All-Powerful-Cow...

Adam has had a variety of jobs over the past ten years, from serving doughnuts at Disneyland Paris to teaching English at university. He wrote RALPH THE MAGIC RABBIT to keep himself entertained during a very boring office job. As a child, he loved comics, cartoons and any stories with jokes in - and he still does. He currently works as a web editor for one of the Guardian's educational sites.
Sid the Snail is not satisfied with his lot in life. Speed is his passion, and when the gym does not meet his needs, he heads off in search of the fabled Ralph the Magic Rabbit. As Sid and the various compatriots he encounters carry out their quest in this tale, reminiscent of THE WIZARD OF OZ, they encounter obstacles such as swamps and menacing slugs. Narrator Daniel Hill's characters are full of personality. These include plodding Sid, tenuous and squeaky Martin the mouse, the effervescent crow, Joe, and sinister hissing snakes. Hill sings ditties, impersonates barbers and waiters, and moves the adventure along jauntily. A.R. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
