About the Author
Sheena Dempsey was born in Cork and studied fine art in Dublin before moving to London in 2009. She graduated from Kingston University with an MA in illustration in 2010. Bye-bye Baby Brother! is her first picture book and she has also illustrated young fiction title The Powers by Kevin Stevens. She lives in London, SE26.

“Babies are so BORING!” says Ruby to her dog, Rory. Tired of waiting and frustrated by her mother’s attention to her baby brother, Oliver, Ruby is ready to have him disappear once and for all. What about a vanishing-baby magic show, or a supermarket switch, or a yard sale (50 cents for “a nice squashy baby in full-working order”)? Finally, she comes up with her best plan: to build a rocket and send him to the moon. Fortunately Mom comes to the rescue, suggesting that they all go on a space adventure together. Young children will enjoy discovering the details on each page (for example, Oliver’s round head peeking out among a stack of cabbages for sale, or a pacifier-shaped planet floating in outer space), as delicate pen and pastel watercolors portray a comfortable home and an angry and disappointed preschooler.
