Jeff Abbott is the acclaimed author of nine novels, including Fear, Panic, and A Kiss Gone Bad. Nominated for three Edgar and two Anthony Awards, he lives in Austin, Texas, with his family.
This is another occasion when a mediocre plot is uplifted by a superior narrator. In this story, an ex-CIA operative now working for a secret government agency and an ordinary businessman are brought together to combat what appears to be another terrorist threat to the U.S. It soon becomes evident that the threat is really from within. Phil Gigante's booming voice keeps listeners alert during the slow moments, and there are several. His character voices are totally credible, especially those of a former IRA terrorist and a misguided Lebanese youth. Listeners who focus on the believability of the characters and not the believability of the plot will find this audio entertaining. A.L.H. © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
