From School Library Journal:
Gr 2-4-These well-organized volumes offer practical advice on the best way to improve in the four areas named in the titles. Each one describes how a particular skill will have an application either in current day-to-day activities or at some point in the future. For example, the first book discusses how math might be used in a future job as an astronaut, or even when simply following a recipe for a favorite cookie. The books emphasize the need for daily practice and provide clear explanations of fundamental principles. Each "Top Tip" is followed by a "Test That Tip" example that allows students to see the suggestions in action. The books all feature lively cartoon illustrations and crisp photographs. While children might not approach these books on their own, they will make great introductions for teachers to jump start instruction.-Grace Oliff, Ann Blanche Smith School, Hillsdale, NJα(c) Copyright 2011.
