Virginia Smith Harvey is professor and director of the school psychology program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Before becoming a university professor, she was a practicing school psychologist for 18 years and supervised school psychologists and interns throughout those years. During her 15 years as a professor, she has supervised practicum, intern, and postgraduate students. In addition to numerous articles and book chapters, she is coauthor of Effective Supervision in School Psychology (2000, with J. A. Struzziero) and Fostering Independent Learning: Practical Strategies to Promote Student Success (2007, with L. A. Chickie-Wolfe). Harvey is currently chair of the ethics committee of the New Hampshire Association of School Psychologists and serves on the Standards Revision Writing Group of the National Association of School Psychologists.
Joan A. Struzziero is an adjunct professor at Northeastern University and school psychologist in the Scituate, MA Public Schools. She has worked as a school psychologist for 18 years and as a field and university supervisor of interns for 15 years. She has also been a supervisor for the Global School Psychology Network and has researched the use of the Internet in supervision. Struzziero is coauthor of Effective Supervision in School Psychology (2000, with V. S. Harvey) and is co-chair of the ethics committee of the Massachusetts Association of School Psychologists and the northeastern representative on the NASP Ethics Committee.
