Synopsis
Set in the early nineteenth century when Britain rules the waves, this is the story of Matthew and James Kirkpatrick, the sons of a former privateer who is a victim of blackmail. Matthew witnesses the death of the blackmailer and hides the body. To save the family honour, he runs away. Over the years, he becomes the captain of a Jersey ship under the direction of Michael De Carteret, a wealthy businessman. James Kirkpatrick joins the Royal Navy and is promoted to captain. The brothers’ adventures intermingle with the lives of the crew, creating a spirit of adventure for all readers.
