About the Author

M. N. (Giri) Hegde is a professor of communicative sciences and disorders at California State University, Fresno. He holds a master s degree in experimental psychology from the University of Mysore, India, and a post-master s diploma in medical psychology from Bangalore University, India. His doctoral degree in speech language pathology is from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Dr. Hegde is a specialist in research methods, fluency disorders, language, and treatment procedures in communicative disorders. He has made many professional and scientific presentations to national and international audiences on a wide variety of topics in communicative disorders. He has published many research articles and serves on several national and international journal editorial boards. He has published over
25 critically acclaimed books on a wide range of subjects in speech language pathology and has edited many books as well. He has received numerous state and
national professional accolades and honors, including the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Southern Illinois University, the ASHA Fellow Award, and the Outstanding Professor Award from California State University, Fresno.
