Synopsis

National Epics is a book written by Kate Milner Rabb that explores the epic poems of various countries around the world. The author provides an in-depth analysis of the cultural and historical significance of these epic poems and how they reflect the values and beliefs of their respective societies. Some of the national epics discussed in the book include the Iliad and Odyssey of ancient Greece, Beowulf of Anglo-Saxon England, the Ramayana of India, the Shahnameh of Iran, and the Kalevala of Finland. The book also delves into the literary techniques used in these epics and how they have influenced subsequent works of literature. National Epics is a comprehensive and informative read for anyone interested in the history and literature of different cultures.Saum, who had lived to regret his foolish and wicked act, was told in a dream that his son still lived, and was being cared for by the Simurgh. He accordingly sought the nest, and carried his son away with great thanksgiving. The Simurgh parted tenderly with the little Zal, and presented him with a feather from her wing, telling him that whenever he was in danger, he had only to throw it on the fire and she would instantly come to his aid. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
