About the Author:
I was born in the suburb of Woodbury, Minneota and lived in the inner city of St. Paul, Minnesota, and the rural countryside of western Wisconsin. I attended 6 years of public school (Woodbury, MN) and 6 years of private school (St. Agnes, St. Paul, MN) before joining the seminary (St. John Vianney, St. Paul, MN), attending 2 private colleges (UST, St. Paul, MN & CSC, St. Paul, MN), and finally graduating from a public univeristy (UWEC, Eau Claire, WI) with a BA in History and minor Anthropology. I have spent my professional life working in human services, serving a wide variety of individuals--adults & children--with developemental disabilities, mental illness, and traumatic brain injury. I have enjoyed roleplaying games since 1994 (D&D, Rifts, Project Twilight, Robotech, IronClaw, Serenity, StarWars). I began as the Dungeon Master for my brother and a couple friends of mine. I took a couple years' break, found my old materials, and started anew when Wizards released D&D v3.0. I have been playing ever since. The materials in my first book, "Legacy of Maela: Campaign Setting", compiled some 11 years' worth of materials into a single book. My second book, "Legacy of Maela: Remote Regions", took ideas I left out of the first book and added those of another DM interested in seeing his material integrated in the Maelaen world. Needless to say, I am very excited to see both now available on Amazon.com! I hope that you enjoy the books! We have taken great efforts to see that players and DMs both find a wealth of information to enrich and expand their games. Maela is a wide open world without limits or restrictions; enjoy it!
