Manjeshwar Anant Bhakta, (M.A.Bhakta),b.1923 in Mangalore,W.India,had his education upto pre-university there;B.S. and M.S.at the Banaras University;Ph.D.in chemistry at the New York University(1964); post-doctoral fellow at the Radiation Lab. University of Notre Dame(1964-1966). Lecturer in chemistry(1950-1959), Ruia College; reader in chemistry(1966-1984)Dhempe College,Goa, both colleges affiliated to the Bombay university. Speciality: physical chemistry, reaction kinetics. In 1951, married Shanti(b.1928); had a happy married life of 31 years;after her death(1982)retired(1984); moved to the U.S.A.in 1986 and is now dividing his time between his daughter's and son's families. He pursues his interests in science and mathematics.
