About the Author
THE AUTHOR Recently retired, Mr. Heaton was involved with the produce industry for over 50 years. Prior to retirement, Mr. Heaton was a Produce Specialist and Merchandiser. Although a professional in all phases of retail produce, he has worked in the wholesale division of produce as well. He was involved with purchasing produce as well as managing independent and military produce accounts. He has researched and authored retail produce manuals, articles on produce quality, and was an expert in the field of merchandising of fruits and vegetables. In 1967, an article written in the National Association of Retail Grocer’s magazine NARGUS, honored his merchandising ability.
