About the Author

Gerard J. Washburn tried his hand at everything but literature - (U.S. Army, Masonry, Copper Mining, Millwright, Fabrication/Welding, Real Estate, Insurance/Financial Planning, Auto Sales & Leasing, Custom Home Builder). He was successful in each endeavor, yet when the deep called, the waters did not stand still.

After being diagnosed as having PD he stated, "Being a writer would never have been included on any list concerning work." "The waters have been calmed," he says with resolve.

Gerard is now doing what he was meant to do since the beginning - write, while embracing the purpose he has been given and helping to instill a positive light in all whom he can. He is now writing his fourth book.

In spite of Parkinson's Disease, he has committed his life with his wife, Rebecca, to help direct fundraising necessary for the University of Arizona's Neuroscience Research Department to create a world class research center with Parkinson's Disease Research at the top of their list. The U of A's, Dr. Brian McKay's and Dr. Scott Sherman's, dedicated hard work has shown great potential and hope with their unprecedented discoveries for all who suffer from Neurological disorders.
