About the Author:

Carol Blankenship Kuykendall was born in Texarkana, Texas, which remained her home for the next thirty years. While attending Hardin-Simmons Unversity in Abilene, she met her husband-to-be. After marrying and graduating from HSU, she taught public school in Texarkana and bore three sons. During the early 1960s, professional opportunities took the family to Houston, where Carol continued her public school career, nurtured her rapidly growing sons, and taught courses at Rice University and the University of Houston Clear Lake. During those years, she managed to produce a significant amount of writing for professional books and journals. Now retired, she lives in Wimberley, where she continues to write. Meanwhile, she and her husband enjoy sharing the pleasures of Hill Country life with visiting family and friends.
