About the Author

Rev. Robert E. Albright is a retired Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He has served as the Catholic Campus Minister at Towson University for the 26 years before his retirement in July 2006. Previously Father Bob served as Campus Minister at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Goucher College for two years. During these years he served first as Acting Director and then as Director of Ministry to Higher Education for the Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. His other ministerial work includes 9 years in parochial work and 8 years teaching religion, music, German and English in elementary and secondary schools. Prior to his 35 years as a priest, he was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools for 13 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and Modern Languages from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, where he also pursued graduate studies in Liturgical Music and Theology. He continued graduate studies at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., Loyola College and St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore. Through teaching a scholarly approach to the Bible over the past 40 years, Father Bob has explored greater interfaith issues at the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies of Baltimore. His studies led him to the Catholic Center for Holocaust Studies where he studied in Israel twice at the International Center for Holocaust Studies, Yad VaShem. Father Bob has been to Israel 12 times leading Study Tours And Retreats and doing private research in Biblical sites and studying the Palestinian/Israeli situation. At the moment, Father Bob is engaged in numerous Catholic/Jewish endeavors including a funded program to educate Jewish and Catholic high school students in each other's tradition, a dialogue on the Mid East between Catholics and Jews, the Baltimore Jewish Council's holocaust committee, the Week of Remembrance at Towson University's Newman Center, and an on-going dialogue between Catholics and Jews in the pews. He also belongs to numerous associations and organizations which support his work and accomplishments. His other areas of interest and study include male spirituality, creation spirituality, ecological spirituality, liturgical music, Christology, Ecclesiology, drama, public speaking, teaching, preaching, and western liturgical traditions, especially the sacramentalogy of the Roman Catholic Church.
