Vicki Cameron was born in Newfoundland, where at an early age she developed a strong affinity, enthusiasm, and love of nature. She worked for several years in the health care field then moved on to teaching at the post-secondary level. It was in this setting she honed her skills as a writer. During her teaching years, her fascination with scenery and natural habitats resulted in a developed competency in photography. Leaving a long and rewarding teaching career to pursue her lifelong affinity for nature and wildlife photography, she started her company Custom Nature Photography in 2001. She now works out of Nova Scotia, where she has been a resident for many years.Combining her photography and writing skills was a natural progression. She unites the two in an exciting, amusing, and nostalgic recounting of her experiences as a wildlife photographer. The author was frequently asked by clients to recount the colorful stories behind her photographs. The persistence of these requests, combined with a sincere concern for the integrity of the Canadian landscape, motivated her to develop a permanent record. The resulting book is a reflection of a select collection, containing favorite images combined with background stories. Vicki exhibits her work annually at the Acadia University Beverage Arts Centre in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Her work may also be viewed online at www.custom-nature-photography.com
