Synopsis

Spunky slum kid Astro gets the chance of a lifetime to end the chaos ripping apart his home planet when the playboy prince switches places with him. Now Astro has become Prince Barrage, a boy charged with the duty of restoring peace to the planet...and given an all-powerful magical spear to do it!

Astro may be an orphan from the slums, but he would do anything for the ragtag group of orphan kids he considers his family. He has trouble keeping jobs due to his failure to keep his smart mouth shut and his refusal to stand by while others are bullied. One day, Astro encounters Barrage, the playboy prince of his planet, who just happens to look exactly like Astro. Prince Barrage wants to run away from his responsibility, so he offers to switch places with Astro. Can Astro convince the royal family, the world, and most of all, himself, that he is worthy of wielding the ancient treasure of the royal family and restore peace to the realm? The story line is a bit corny, but overall, this is a fun, action-packed, new shonen manga series that would appeal to fans of Naruto. Adults and teens alike will appreciate Astro’s dedication to his diverse family members and the lengths he goes to to protect them. Grades 7-12. --Candice Mack
