Grade 6–8—Each book contains explanations for more than 70 questions. A typical spread consists of an introduction that provides background and five or six questions on a topic, for example, "Volcanoes and Earthquakes." The first line or two of the short answers are in bold type. Human Body covers digestion, the brain, the fetus, and so on. Planet Earth focuses on land features, maps, and weather. Natural World addresses mammals, birds, reptiles/amphibians, fish, and plants. In each book, additional material is included in a separate section at the bottom of the page. Multiple photos, illustrations, and diagrams support the information provided. The extensive table of contents and index can be used to narrow searches, and back matter includes a quiz and answers. These books might appeal to browsers with some subject knowledge but lack enough information for researchers.—Sandra Welzenbach, Villarreal Elementary School, San Antonio, TX
