Chase is the author of five additional books, including Arts & Crafts Style and Spirit; Cowboy Style; and, with Amy Jo Sheppard, Sweet Treats from the Wild West. She lives in Tiburon, California.
Combining her passion for cooking with her outdoor interests, Amy Jo Sheppard has served as a chef at a guest ranch in Wyoming, a remote lodge in Denali National Park, and aboard an excursion boat in Prince Williams Sound. She lives in Helena, Montana.

CHASE REYNOLDS EWALD holds degrees from Yale and the Graduate School of Journalism at U.C. Berkeley and has cooked her way through northwest Wyoming dude ranch kitchens as well as on backcountry pack trips in the Absaroka Mountains' Washakie Wilderness. Founder of a nonprofit guest ranch in Wapiti, Wyoming, she now lives in northern California with her husband and four daughters, where she serves as Senior Editor for Western Art & Architecture magazine. Chase is the author of two Western Design Conference Sourcebooks as well as five additional books, including Arts & Crafts Style and Spirit, Cowboy Style, and, with Amy Jo Sheppard, Sweet Treats from the Wild West.
AMY JO SHEPPARD has spent most of her adult life in the outdoors, and much of that time cooking. After receiving a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University, she worked as a backcountry guide in Montana, North Carolina, and Colorado and taught environmental education at outdoor schools in northern Minnesota, North Carolina, and California. Combining her passion for cooking with her outdoor interests, Amy became a chef at a guest ranch in Wyoming, a remote lodge in Denali National Park, and aboard an excursion boat in Prince William Sound. She lives and cooks in Helena, Montana.
