I won the Golden Poet Award in 1989 and the Silver Poet Award in 1990 for the poem Letting You Go In God's Time." I was sent a beautiful plaque with the following poem: Letting You Go In God's Time I'm letting go of you and giving you to God. If He feels the time is right, you will be mine, But only in God's time. If this time never comes, I will soon realize that God above Will send someone He feels is right for me to love, And when this happens you will know, It was then I had to let you go. My experience with losing Tami was very difficult, but through each step, my faith in God has been the cornerstone of my strength and endurance. It is quite an adjustment to live without a loved one, but there is hope when you put your trust in God. I think about Tami daily and I know she is with me in spirit. One day I will see Tami again, and I believe all of us will reunite with our loved ones. I hope this book will encourage, help you feel a glimmer of hope and give you strength through difficult times. I know you will rise above sad times and find the good in goodbye."
