About the Author:

Frank was born in Siberia , Russia , on November 27, 1918. The family escaped Russia and fled to America, finally arriving on Angel Island, San Francisco in 1930. He attended Dixieland Elementary School in Madera, California. He graduated from Madera High School. He was the first one of six brothers to enlist in the US Army in 1942. He returned home in 1945 from his tour of duty in Europe. He went to work for Safeway Stores as an apprentice meat cutter. He married Lois in Madera and they had three sons, Herb, Dennis, and Ralph. They later divorced and he married Kathleen in 1975 in Madera. It was during his marriage to Kathleen that he wrote this book. He passed away in July 2003 before seeing his book published. Kathleen saw his book through to its completion just as was his dream.
