Synopsis

Flesh And Matter: The Scriptures Versus Christian Science is a thought-provoking book written by Sara Van Alen Murray. The book delves into the controversial topic of Christian Science and its teachings, which are often at odds with traditional Christian beliefs. The author presents a detailed analysis of the Christian Science doctrine, focusing on its views on the nature of God, the human body, and the role of prayer in healing.Murray argues that Christian Science's rejection of medical treatment and reliance on prayer alone can be dangerous, particularly in cases where medical intervention is necessary to save lives. She draws on her own personal experiences with Christian Science to illustrate the potential harm that can result from these beliefs. The book also examines the role of the Bible in Christian Science, and how the movement's interpretation of scripture differs from that of traditional Christianity. Murray argues that Christian Science's selective use of biblical passages is a distortion of the true message of the Bible.Overall, Flesh And Matter: The Scriptures Versus Christian Science is a compelling and thought-provoking exploration of a controversial religious movement. The author's insights and personal experiences provide a unique perspective on the subject, and the book is sure to stimulate discussion and debate among readers. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
