Hart, Herbert Hoover

Herbert Hoover Hart was born in California in 1928, a hearing child with deaf parents on the verge of the Great Depression. Extreme poverty, constant hunger and a chaotic home life marked his early life. His initial school experience was near failure because his first language was American Sign Language, not English and he was assessed as "retarded." Yet a handful of key people provided him the guidance and encouragement to navigate his way to a college diploma in food science and technology and a successful career as an expert in wastewater management for the food processing industry. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
