Synopsis

Their planet is dying, destroyed by years of unchecked environmental waste and pollution. The human race is nearly dead also, ravaged by an incurable virus. Only two people remain alive, O'Neal, accompanied by Charlie-a clone and his servant for many years-and Cilla. Together, they remain mankind's last chance of survival. There's just one problem: neither Cilla nor O'Neal are completely sure each other exists-or if they are simply legends. The only other inhabitants of the planet are clones-former athletes known as Haters-and they wander the ravaged landscape destroying everything in their path. Cilla's search for O'Neal spans decades as the planet's resources dwindle and she narrowly avoids capture time after time by the bloodthirsty Haters. Both sides are unnerved by the sudden appearance of an extraterrestrial-Michael-who is taken captive by the Haters. He tries to pass himself off as a clone and he will eventually escape, finding Cilla and O'Neal. Is Michael a threat to the survival of the human race? It's obvious that he didn't get there by accident. He has a mission, but what is it?

About the Author

Jim began writing as a teenager, as a form of self-expression. His talent for words quickly became his hobby, and he wrote his first full-length novel at the age of nineteen. Over the years he would write dozens of short stories and novellas, more for self-entertainment than any other reason. He finished LastMan the year he turned 59 years old, and decided to seek publication at the urging of friends and associates. Jim has devoted his time and energy to the publication and promotion of his book, as he will to future projects. Currently, he has other novels in the development stage: SweetWater, a novel about crimes and criminals using the Great Lakes and bulk cargo shipping as a backdrop and The Alien Wore Pantyhose, a science fiction novel set in and around Las Vegas and Area 51. He has written numerous business articles and has published a booklet titled, Where Will You Stretch Your Hammock? A guide to buying, selling or leasing real estate in the island countries of the Atlantic and Caribbean.
