Grade 3-5 Each bilingual title introduces a branch of the U. S. military. Two to three short sentences per page highlight different jobs, tools, and machines within the service: soldiers, pilots, mechanics, air-traffic controllers, doctors, cooks, etc. The full-page photographs include the best-known equipment such as humvees, aircraft carriers, submarines, airplanes, assault amphibian vehicle, helicopters, and others. The photos also portray the diversity of the troops. This simply written series give children the opportunity to read independently while satisfying their curiosity about the military.
