Hubert Ben Kemoun was born in 1958 in Algeria, on the northern coast of Africa. He has written plays for radio, screenplays for television, musicals for the state, and children's books. He now lives in Nantes, France with his wife and their two sons, Nicholas and Nathan. He likes wirting detective stories, and also creates crossword puzzles for newspapers. When he writes stories, he writes them first with a pen and then copies the words onto a computer. His favorite color is black, the color of ink.
