About the Author:

Tim Hoppey was born and raised on Long Island in New York. For more than 20 years, he has worked as a New York City firefighter in the neighborhood of East Harlem. In his spare time, Hoppey has written several children's books including Tito, The Firefighter published by Raven Tree Press. He lives with his wife Ellen, their three kids, and a 14-year-old cat named Scarlet.

Review:

This high interest, low vocabulary series combines a short historical fiction tale with graphic novel style illustrations. This tale has a great deal of action and appealed to the low reading group of 7th grade boys I used for field testing. Jungle Scout --Library Media Connection
