About the Author:

Violet June Richardson was raised in the Tumbling Creek area in Virginia near the town of Saltville. The creek and the green mountains surrounding the family home, inspired her to write short stories and articles about living a simple country life and the enjoyment it brought. Her love of writing as a young child gave her the courage to write Mountain Blossoms. After she graduated from high school, the family moved to Indiana. Richardson took a position at a local utility company that stretched into a thirty year career. She continued her education attending evening classes at a local business college. After receiving her degree, she taught shorthand and dictation for several years in evening school, and private tutoring in her home. Richardson lives on a farm in Indiana with her husband where she enjoys gardening, raising beautiful flowers, and having their two sons and grandchildren living nearby. One of her hobbies is painting rural scenes of old barns. Although she is considered a Hoosier, she still maintains her southern drawl, and her passion for writing. She enjoys writing articles for her hometown newspaper in Virginia, sharing her memoirs and early life as a child where she grew up.
