What Promises Can You Believe?
In The Promises of God, Dr. R. C. Sproul shows how God—the one true Promise Keeper—always keeps His promises. Drawing from his expansive theological background, Dr. Sproul addresses questions such as these:
· How do we know that God will fulfill His promises to us?
· What can we learn about God’s faithfulness as we wait for His promises to be fulfilled?
· What was the agreement God the Father had with Jesus before the beginning of the world?
· What does God’s covenant with Adam mean for us today?
· What common covenant do atheists and other non-Christians participate in with God?
· What does God’s covenant have to do with His forgiveness of our sins today?
· Why did Jesus have to die to complete God’s covenant with us?
God’s promises throughout history are the foundation for your relationship with Him. Here you will see how and why He keeps His promises to you, from now through eternity.

R.C. Sproul (1939–2017) was founder of Ligonier Ministries in Orlando, Fla. He was also first minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew’s Chapel, first president of Reformation Bible College, and executive editor of Tabletalk magazine. His radio program, Renewing Your Mind, is still broadcast daily on hundreds of radio stations around the world and can also be heard online.
The Reformed pastor of a Florida congregation and author of more than 80 books (The Holiness of God) take a long look at covenants in the Bible. Through the looking glass of the Old and New Testaments, he views the vast numbers of promises in Scripture. "We saw that Moses was the mediator of the old covenant, and Jesus is the Mediator of the new covenant," Sproul writes. In each of the book's 14 short chapters, the author outlines his message, cites Bible verses, gives a study quiz, and prepares the reader for the missive he presents. I don't see this; I do see chapters accompanied by study guides that follow this form. Please clarify. He is clear in connecting the meaning of the Garden of Eden to the ministry of Jesus, but the covenants of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament are quite different, he argues. He spends time doing a long exegesis of the book of Hebrews, which ties the covenants together. This book is for the serious Bible student who wants to take a close, academic look at the Bible.
