About the Author

Introduced to the game of golf as an eight year old, Jack Hartt has been in love with it ever since. Being limited in funds as a child, he improvised as necessary to enjoy the game as often as possible. Raised in Seattle, he has spent most of his life in the Pacific Northwest. His love of the outdoors led him to became a park ranger with Washington State Parks, which has became a career of over thirty years now. He married the cute girl up the street from where he lived, who has encouraged his love of the game. Together they raised six marvelous children, some of whom play golf but none as obsessively as Jack. Not yet anyway. Jack has enjoyed designing golf courses for the “Links” computer golf game, and specialized in creating real or imagined courses in the state of Washington. In real life he sports an eight handicap. His favorite courses to play are Apple Tree in Yakima and the new Chambers Bay course near Tacoma. His current home course is Gallery Golf Course at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island. This is close to his place of work, Deception Pass State Park. Jack’s interests, besides his wife and kids and golf, are photography, beach hiking, balanced game play, airsoft, gorgeous sunsets, gentle music, and life.
