Octavo, green bonded leather boards which are exquisitely decorated (by the team from Fractured Pixels) on front cover, rear cover, and spine with silver and gilt illustrations and border piping, and of course the centerpiece, James Madsen's glossy oval pastedown plate illustration of Mowgli & his jungle friends. 'Tropical Forest with Monkeys' at the endpapers is the work of Henri Rousseau; the original currently hangs at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. There are 16 full-color, full-page illustrations within by Maurice & Edward Detmold, as well as monotone chapter-top illustrative decorations by them; a green satin page-marker ribbon; 6 + 190p. New, and absolutely pristine. Removed from publisher's shrinkwrap for scanning and description, then placed in sealed archival storage - with that removed shrinkwrap and its label, which will accompany the book, if so desired by purchaser. There is no more timeless piece of fiction for 'children of all ages', of course; and there is no more beautifully designed edition of it. Collectible decorative binding. See all scans.
