About the Author

Georgia Amson-Bradshaw is a children's writer and editor who has worked on a number of award-winning science book for kids. She won the Royal Society Young People's Book Prize for Eye Benders and the London Science Museum Activity Book award for This Book Thinks You're a Scientist. She remembers how eye-opening and inspiring her favorite books were when she was a child and so she strives to have the same effect on the children who read her books.

Rita Petruccioli is an illustrator and comic book artist with projects in advertising, magazines, textile design, and children's books. Rita attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome and ENSAD in Paris, and her works have been exhibited in Italy, France, Germany and South Korea. When she's not drawing, she's engaged in workshops on gender stereotypes in comics.

I have 3 girls and I want them all to reach for the stars and be or do anything they want to do. These books contain inspiring information on women that I want my girls to learn more about. From famous scientists to less famous artists each and every woman featured has done something amazing. The books do a great job of highlighting the important yet interesting parts of their lives. At the end of each book is a section that highlights what your child can do today to help develop the knowledge or skills needed to help them learn more. Learning to code, going to museums or entering local art competitions are just a few of the many examples they give. These are an incredible set that we will be keeping on the bookshelf for casual reading and for reference."
