From the Author:
I am passionate about stories. I love stories in all the shapes and forms they take.
From the first stories told around a crackling fire they offered us entertainment, knowledge, history and honor; but on a deeper, mystical level, stories reveal to us the secrets hidden in our spirits and souls. Good stories heal us, they lift us up and help us to see a grander image of ourselves. They can help us become better people. They cause passion to grow in us, make us view our worlds differently or gain understanding of how the other half lives. They make us laugh, they make us cry, they make us feel.
Good stories can take us to far away lands. We can uncover the secrets of the Universe. We can come to know the deeper part of ourselves that is attached to everything else in the Universe. We can fly to the moon, visit another dimension, travel back in time, find true love, become a secret agent, discover the unspoken mysteries, right wrongs and become who we've always wanted to be. It's the cheapest vacation that I know of.
I believe in the power of story to change and empower lives. The beauty of story is that its message is left up to the reader. The reader decides what to take from a story and what to throw away. There is no one standing over you telling you what you must like or not like. Story has the ability to affect each person who reads in an entirely different way.
There is great magic in a story that comes from the heart.
About the Author:
Managing editor of a small-town California historical weekly newspaper in a past life, Laurie Brenner authored the award winning Changing Planes, a metaphysical fiction, The Little Book of Becoming-the Primer to Living Inside Out, The Seven A's of Attraction and How To Attract Love, a guide to those hunting for their true love.
Laurie's books share a common thread seen in all of her writings: spirituality, forgiveness, love, and unconditional acceptance of yourself and those around you.
Brenner and her husband Gordon share their ten-acre piece of heaven on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada, a red tail hawk's flight southwest of Lake Tahoe with their two dogs, three cats, and a myriad of magical and natural creatures from the seen and unseen realms of nature.
