Synopsis
Reproducing lithographs from more than 100 U.S. patent applications, technology experts Rabin and Bassett try to provide readers with an imaginative springboard for their own problem solving efforts. In the first half of the book, inventions are presented along with the history behind them or a discussion of the need that each invention filled. The second part is a "bonus gallery" including inventions from burglar alarms to corsets, and from musical instruments to blast furnaces. Randy Rabin is founder of Patent Arts, an invention and patent research service for inventors, companies, and patent law firms.
