About the Author

Dr. Roberto E. Gibraltarik is a writer, singer, composer, teacher and administrator. He hails from New York with African American, Native American and Latino ancestry. Dr. G., as he is affectionately called by friends and colleagues, taught Spanish and Hispanic Culture and Civilization at University of California, Santa Barbara, taught elementary and intermediate Spanish at Berkeley City College and City College of San Francisco, and is currently Department Chair of World Language at a middle school in northern California. Dr. G. has traveled the world to experience the economic, political and social plight of the characters that pepper his poetry. He places your feet in their shoes and dares you to walk a mile. Coupled with satire and ridicule, Dr.G’s verses compel you to look beyond the beyond and focus on the What? Why? And the how? They set your mind in a feeding frenzy of tasting the forbidden fruit, then yearning for more.
