Synopsis
Sarah and Meagan Davis are cousins in a grade 12 geography class that sets out on a three-day hike along the Snake River. Their plan is to experience wilderness survival as they trek along the rocky and scenic trails that lead them to an exciting day of white water rafting. The great finale will be the last night at the Resort Hotel where America's hottest idol will entertain them. But their fun adventure quickly becomes a horrific nightmare as unexpected storms rage against them provoking a deadly mudslide. Amid personal conflicts, they face the wrath of nature and their drive now becomes a desperate fight for survival. Sarah must use every skill she has to overcome her fears and work with her surviving teammates to rescue the victims of the mudslide in a tense race against time.

From the Author
Mudslide is the first of five books in the young adult adventure series called, the Misadventures of Sarah Davies. This particular story was inspired by two of my sons who each went on a hiking trip and experienced weather challenges. One suffered storms that washed his group out and another met with raging rapids that swept him deep into its clutches. Combined with my own experiences from many years of hiking and camping, and my healthy imagination, I created Mudslide.
This book, as with every other book in the series, is void of profanity, sexual connotation and insolence. But it is fast-paced and filled with non-stop action.
The second book in the series is called Firestorm and will be in print in July of 2011, and the third book, called Whiteout , should be available by December of 2011.
About the Author
Veronica Dauber's passion for creative writing began when she was a child growing up in Ontario, Canada. She continues to live there with her husband. They raised seven children, and are now enjoying their eleven grandkids.
