Synopsis
There are eighty million baby boomers on the horizon and most of them are caught up in the mayhem of being part of the "Sandwich Generation." That is, they are caught between their parents and their children. Many of the boomers are now trying to figure out who they are in the scheme of things, how they will survive taking care of their parents and how they will continue to raise their children in good faith as a concerned parent. Most of the scenarios presenting themselves in the past five years, and escalating, are about family dynamics: who will take care of Mom and Dad; where will they end up; how can I help them when I have my own family; and, why isn't my brother or sister helping out?
Aging is a mystery for most, something that just happens, a complex labyrinth. This book will help people cope by learning about themselves through other people's examples: how they think and feel in light of getting older. People must stay flexible with respect to change, learning to go with the flow; yet remain conscious of how fast the water is rising.

About the Author
Eric Z. Shapira practiced dentistry for more than thirty years and then became a clinical gerontologist, receiving his master's degree in clinical gerontology as well as a master's degree in health administration. He has published more than one hundred professional articles and has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad. Shapira lives in Montara, California, with his wife, Susan.
