About the Author:
Allie Phillips is an attorney and advocate for the protection of animals. She was the vice president of Human-Animal Strategic Initiatives and vice president of Public Policy at American Humane Association and is currently the vice president of No Paws Left Behind. She specializes in advocacy on animal welfare legislation and animal protection issues, particularly on pound seizure, and has conducted over 120 trainings on best practices in protecting crime victims, particularly animals. She has published several legal articles on issues related to animal welfare, including a chapter in The International Handbook on Animal Cruelty.
