About the Author

Robert Stojanov specializes in relations among migration processes, environmental change and development, and effectiveness of development interventions. He is prime author of monographs Development, Environment and Migration. Analysis of Linkages and Consequences (together with J. Novosak; 2008) and Development Assistance in the Light of Practice. Selected Linkages and Aspects (2008). Robert has conducted a field research dealing climate (environmental) change, and migration and development consequences in China, East Africa, East Europe and South Asia. He is currently lecturer at the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, Mendel Agricultural and Forestry University in Brno, and visiting research fellow at the Dep artment of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. Jiri Novosak studied at Department of Human Geography and Regional Development at University of Ostrava. Presently, he is going to complete his PhD studies focused on environmental geography. and he is lecturer at Tomas Bat'a University in Zlin. His fields of interest are migration and development at various geographical levels. He is the prime author of the monograph Shaping the Development of Developing Countries. Focused on China and India (together with Stojanov, R.; 2008).
