It's 1955. In the seaside town of Fairbourne, on the south coast of England, is the Victoriana theatre. One of the actors has been murdered in his dressing room at a time between the matinee and the evening performance. Everyone working in the theatre falls under suspicion, especially the cast and the murdered man's wife, who is more famous than her husband. Inspector Carding and Sergeant George Binns investigate, whilst the actors, used to playing a part, suspect one another. Yet to leave before the season finishes will point the finger at the murderer...

About the Author:
Joan M Moules is the author of over thirty books both fiction and non-fiction. She also writes short stories and articles, runs occasional day workshops and is passionate about her writing. In junior school her desk was next to a window which looked across to a railway line and she was always in trouble for gazing across to the trains and making up stories about where the people on them were going instead of concentrating on what the teacher was saying. Eventually she was moved to the other side of the room where she couldn't see them... Some of her other interests, not in any special order, include reading, walking by the seashore, theatre, music hall, Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, cats and being with her family and friends. She is a member of The Society of Women Writers' and Journalists, Society of Authors, The Crime Writers Association and The Deadly Dames.
