Synopsis
Many Americans say they’ve heard of Big Brother, but even those who’ve read George Orwell’s 1984 say America is still light years from Orwell’s futuristic society about an all-powerful government intent on controlling the lives and minds of its citizens. But like Orwell’s outer party members and especially the functionally illiterate proles, many Americans are living in a delusional state. Big Brother is real! And those Americans who still believe in the Holy Bible and support the U.S. Constitution are the last Americans. R. C. Murray’s Prole Nation is a fictional but realistic look at the very near future (2012) where Big Brother’s federal government is trying to hold onto power though 27 states threaten secession. Add to this scenario a near-dead global economy, a continuing war on terrorism that includes a re-instated draft and where criminals are conscripted into military service, and last but not least, catastrophic natural disasters of biblical proportions.
