About the Author
Melanie Anne Phillips is a prolific author, filmmaker, photographer and composer. She is primarily known as the founder of the transgender community on the World Wide Web and as the co-creator of Dramatica – a new theory of story structure that is the basis for the most widely used software for story development (also called Dramatica). As a boy she began a career in filmmaking and music, eventually directing two feature films before the age of thirty and recording over thirty hours of original music. During transition she kept a daily journal which has become the most widely read transition diary. Today, Melanie continues her creative and intellectual activities, developing new models of psychology, composing experimental music, photographing nature, and editing her previous works to make more of the material available for publication.
