About the Author:

Nicholas Gilman was born in New York City. A trained painter as well as a food writer, he has been a guest on NPR's The Splendid Table. He has written for The News, Mexico's English daily, as well as The New York Times and the Christian Science Monitor. He lives and works in Mexico City.
