About the Author, R. L. Sloan is a south Texas native born in San Antonio, Texas, where she lives with her husband and daughter. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master's of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She obtained a license as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, and trained Rape Crisis Volunteer. Child Welfare has been the focus of her career over the past 17 years with an emphasis on Adoption and Kinship Family Care as a Specialty. Her expertise includes written curriculum on continuing education for Grandparent Caregivers, Foster Parent Education, and Trauma Intervention and Healing.
